Our annual trip to India provided a humbling and awe-inspiring start to the year for the
16 pupils and 7 staff accompanying them. The Year 8’s loved
their time at Xavier
and Loyola College in Manvi and Kapepaladi School in Pannur which we have fundraised for
through the ‘Supporting Dalit Children’ charity. They sang songs and taught small groups of children as well as shared stories of how life in England is different to life in India. Hampi, a magical place where Hinduism began, was another highpoint of the trip as they toured around ruins of palaces, temples and royal pavilions. In Hyderabad, the girls were very excited to choose their beautiful saris at the Night Market and have their hands painted in traditional henna designs!
