Highlights
As part of their topic work on Victorians, the children experienced a Victorian Christmas celebration at Royal Gunpowder Mills. They played old fashioned parlour games, had a taste of school life and even turned their hands to screen printing to make their own festive cards.
In the Michaelmas term, the children visited Stanstead Mountfichet ‘Motte and Bailey’ Castle where they enjoyed putting their friends in the stocks and trying on armour!
Year 1 have looked at toys past and present and had a go at making their own traditional peg dolls.
Victorian washing is hard work!
