It is fair to say that this hasn’t been the
year of healthy competition we envisaged. Despite the well-documented restrictions, however, a few familiar activities still allowed for the ubiquitous friendly rivalry: dressing up, quizzing, mystery singers, truth and fibs and, of course, the obligatory sporting events.
If we have learnt anything this year, it is that we must appreciate the special moments when they occur – and, without doubt,
we have had plenty of those.
House News
Mr Pay rocked out at the House Christmas Quiz.
Tristram largely dominated in
the sporting arena, though each House experienced their moments of triumph. Perhaps 2020 will be remembered not for the desire
to come out on top, but for the belief that whilst there is power in the individual, the strength in the collective will always win through. As if by design, the concluding House events of the school year on the final two days, took on a collegiate feel. Bubbles may have been in existence, Zoom groups may have created a distance, but the feeling of togetherness was
in abundance as the Houses of Percivale, Tristram and Galahad signed off with the flourish we have come to expect.

House Cross Country
In the last school sports event before ‘Lockdown’ the Prep School took part in the Annual House Cross Country event. There were some excellent races and all the children competed with great determination whilst encouraging each other. Tristram was the overall winner with the following children winning their respective age group races:
