Music Review
The universal language of music has enhanced our sense of connection this year. Informal concerts took place in the Michaelmas and Lent term, including a colourful Musical Theatre Concert and impressive LAMDA Presentation, alongside our regular Rush Hour Concerts and Services. Whilst the Heath Mount halls may have fallen silent during the months of April and May, our inspiring community rallied online, and music has remained very much alive. Our school value of industry took
on new meaning in the Summer term as pupils designed and created
their own instruments
out of household items, using them to access the music curriculum from home. They approached new challenges with creative flexibility, reaching unexpected new highs and overcoming confidence barriers as they recorded for virtual projects. In true Heath Mount style, our pupils and staff ensured that The Show Will Go On. Our musical performances, both live and virtual, reinforce the exceptionally high standards being achieved by our pupils and I look forward to the moment we can resume the magic of live music-making together.

A Christmas Cracker!
Year 3 and 4 pulled off a cracker of a show to entertain their grandparents on the Carols Afternoon, complete with audience participation, snow machines, glitter cannons, instruments, and a reindeer rap. The children’s grandparents enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies before heading to the PAC for some humorous festive poems and seasonal songs. In true Heath Mount tradition, Miss White led everyone through the actions of The Twelve Days of Christmas and was delighted to recruit three French hens in the form of Mr Gillam, Mr Dawes and Mr Spowart, with the addition of some French themed props! Pupils sang with heart and voice, and their captivating choreography ensured the extravaganza finished with a bang as the Christmas Cracker was pulled.
