Rugby
In Year 6, a new initiative was brought into the game play: target based rugby! Before each game, each team set targets individually and collectively. This strategy was hugely successful and allowed the boys to truly appreciate the core values of rugby and teamwork.
Looking ahead to the next rugby season, there is certainly excitement about our Year 7 group as their performances were once again highly spoken of on the local circuit. We look forward to their final season within the school, hoping for continued success and performance. Together with Year 8 and Year 4, they were given coaching and advice by former Scotland international and current Saracens academy coach, Kelly Brown. These sessions gave the pupils a taste of

training at the highest possible level and will no doubt provide them with lasting memories. The continued partnership with Saracens has given pupils the

Boys’ Hockey
Hertfordshire County Qualifier
The U11 boys enjoyed a successful term playing in two major tournaments; impressing against schools who play
Hockey as a major game during the Lent term. In the IAPS tournament at Haileybury, we competed well
to finish 3rd in our group and
just missed out on the Main Cup competition. We then played in
the Plate competition where we progressed to the final before losing on penalties. In the Hertfordshire Schools Competition, a victory
over Bishop Stortford and a draw with Aldwickbury meant we were crowned Herts Champions for
the second time in the last three years. We qualified for the Eastern Championships and, although we only gained one win and a draw in our 5 matches, we competed well against the best Prep schools in the Eastern region. Jamie H captained the team well whilst Matthew W was a strong force in defence. Along with Nico D in goal they gave the team confidence going forward. Alex B was a key performer in midfield ably supported by Jacob H, James B and Samuel L, whilst Danial S and Harry M provided options in attack. All in all, it was a good season with the boys improving their own skills and knowledge of the game as well as developing into a promising team. John Russell
