Boarding
Our boarding community made some fantastic memories over the first two terms, with our boarding staff putting on a host
of brilliant activities and themed events. The children enjoyed scavenger hunts around the school grounds, quiz nights and table tennis tournaments to mention just a few. A highlight of the Michaelmas term was Halloween Night when the boarding and catering teams joined forces to create a spooky evening of devilishly good food, witches’ brew and fun galore. The annual fireworks night followed soon after, providing plenty of sparkle and bangs as boarders and their families watched the incredible fireworks display and bonfire light up the night sky. We look forward to welcoming the children back to the boarding houses as soon as possible. Samantha Irons
Spell-binding activities included pumpkin bowling, biscuit decorating, pumpkin golf and witches’ hoopla at the Halloween ‘Fright’ Night.
“My Boarding Experience”
Our Year 8 leavers recall their favourite moments ...
“Some of my favourite memories have been made at the boarding house. Halloween Night is so amazing. I love how much
effort is put into it every year and how it makes everyone smile and scream! Dinner of spaghetti and ‘eyeballs’ will haunt me forever as will the slimy jelly! The boarding house hosted my 13th birthday and I had
an incredible evening with my friends.
I was astonished at how much thought
Mrs Spowart put into laying out all the cakes and sweet treats. Boarding at Heath Mount is the reason why I want to board at my
next school and has helped me develop as a person. I will miss the boarders so much when I leave and I recommend everyone
to give it a go at some point.” Charlotte E
Boarders enjoyed a gastronomic feast at Italian Night. They tucked into antipasti, creamy Tuscan chicken with gnocchi, tricolore salad and tiramisu washed down with Sicilian lemonade!
“Boarding is a way to spend time with your friends and have lots of fun away from home. My favourite activity in the boarding year is The Boarders’ Christmas Party. This is because it starts with the fun of ice skating and you can spend time with all the other year groups. Then once we go back to school we have pizza and get to laugh and have fun with everyone.” Amelia S
“I love the independence of it all, and having fun and watching movies with my friends. I will really miss it!” Jessica H 118
