Bringing history to life at Celtic Harmony
Year 3 pupils expanded their learning about the Celts and Boudicca at Celtic Harmony Camp in Brickendon this week. Put into clans, the children gleaned knowledge from the archers, hunters, warriors, druids and craftspeople as they competed in challenges to become recognised chieftains. The day included archery training and a woodland quest full of brain-teasing riddles. Year 3 particularly enjoyed the opportunity to battle the Romans (AKA their teachers). The role-play continued with traditional trade activities; swapping real artefacts and bartering with Celtic coins. At the end of the visit the children were able to exchange their pocket money for Catuvellauni coins to buy souvenirs in the camp shop.
