Pupils help raise £2,000 for Charity

Senior Craft club girls pose behind some of the Christmas decorations being sold at our charity fair

Christmas Fair 2024

The frosty temperatures this week coincided with the arrival of our Christmas tree in the Main School and our first festive event of the term - the Charity Christmas Gift Fair in aid of Twende Education For All (a Zambian NGO helping educate and support children undergoing treatment for cancer and sickle cell anaemia). The sports hall was filled with visiting small businesses and local artisans as well as our wonderful in-house craft stall with all items handmade by our talented pupils and staff.  Year 5 designed Christmas cards, Year 4 made sweet ceramic robins and Year 3 crafted scandi-style beaded trees. Our Senior Charity Craft Club members in Years 7 & 8 have worked particularly hard every Tuesday after school to sew tree decorations, bunting and stockings to sell.

The event was a real opportunity to showcase the creative and artistic talents within our DT and art departments and a fantastic chance for us to 'give back' to our friends in Zambia. Well done to everyone involved for raising £2,100!

In other charity news, we are pleased to reveal that the Poppy Appeal raised £471 for the Royal British Legion and Children In Need Mufti Day raised £480.  Next on the charity agenda, we have our Reindeer Run in aid of Isabel Hospice, donations to local food banks and Haven First as well as a toy drive in aid of Hertford-based charity Jedidiah
