Sports Scholars first to try out state-of-the-art equipment
There was great excitement this morning as our first group of sports scholars tried out the newly opened strength and conditioning centre above the sports hall. Mr Elliott, our Director of Sport, led the induction session and guided the children around the various pieces of equipment which include: multi-trainers, a Ski ERG, two Concept 2 rowing machines, a treadmill, weight-lifting racks and free weights.
The light-filled space also comes with a sound system to help keep the energy going! The centre will initially be used by our sports scholars in Years 7&8 as part of their strength and conditioning training and is also available to staff for out-of-hours training.
We are currently celebrating the news that 7 of our 2024 sports scholars have won sports scholarships to their next schools - Haileybury, Framlingham College and Tudor Hall. You can read more about our unique sports scholars programme here.
