A Heath Mount education goes far beyond the National Curriculum to offer incredible enrichment opportunities. One week pupils might be gaining inspiration from Britain’s first astronaut and the next be singing at the Royal Festival Hall or re-enacting life as a Roman!
UK Trips & Workshops
From Nursery to Year 8 all of our pupils enjoy a wide variety of trips to enhance their learning. These have included: RAF Hendon, Whipsnade, Woburn Safari, Bletchley Park, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Royal Gunpowder Mills, Celtic Harmony Camp, Rye Meads nature reserve, St Alban’s Cathedral, Harry Potter studios, West End shows and London art galleries. We regularly host immersive history workshops in the Pre-Prep and Prep where pupils can re-enact life in ancient Rome and Egypt or experience life as a soldier or nurse in the Crimean War with Florence Nightingale. We also welcome Set Point Science, Pulse CSI workshops in forensic science and Ark Farm.
International Trips
Every Easter our older pupils are offered the opportunity to go on the school ski and snowboarding trip to the beautiful resort of Serre Chevalier in France. We also offer our Upper School pupils the chance to go on our bi-annual Science Trip to Florida in the October half-term which includes visits to NASA and Universal Studios. Year 8 pupils are also invited to go on an annual trip to Lusaka Zambia to visit our charity partner, Twende Education For All, and to explore Zambian culture and wildlife.
Special Guests
We welcome a wide variety of inspirational speakers, authors and theatre groups throughout the year. Recent visitors have included The Anti-Slavery Collective founders HRH Princess Eugenie and Julia de Boinville, Caroline Haughey QC, the first UK astronaut Helen Sharman CBE OBE, Olympians Sir Ben Ainslie CBE and Greg Rutherford MBE, wildlife presenter Steve Backshall, Baroness ‘Tanni’ Grey Thompson, mouth artist and inspirational speaker Henry Fraser and The Self Esteem Team.

Heath Mount rugby and netball players benefit from exclusive access to training programmes and camps with some of the most talented professionals in the country plus visits to the home stadiums.
Music
Our young musicians attend a number of orchestral experience days at senior schools including Oundle, Uppingham and Haileybury. Heath Mount also offers our musicians regular opportunities to perform in a variety of concerts and recitals in our own Performing Arts Centre. Our Bax choir has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall and the International Eisteddfod in Wales and has also collaborated with Katherine Jenkins and Marisha Wallace.
